It was January of 2017. I’d taken the bus from Fira to Imeroviglia, intending to have a walkabout, then get the next bus to Oia at the tip of the island. Oia is the town that gets all the press. I found a sign indicating a footpath to Oia and started walking. These photos are from that walk, appearing to you in the same order that they appeared to me on that day—the process of capturing the photos took three to four hours, including a stop for a snack and another stop when (praise the Lord) I found a church with an outhouse.
