Making the most of those between-sit days without blowing your budget
Once again, I’m writing from an airport, neither here nor there, sometime in your past. I’m most likely there by the time you read this. Some there or other. It’s a threshold time. It’s got me thinking about the logistics of between-sit times. If you’re doing petsitting to reduce expenses while travelling, be aware that those few days between sits can get expensive.
I’ve often had homeowners invite me to come early or stay a few extra days. Sometimes it’s a gesture of gratitude, sometimes it’s because you discover you like each other. Some pet owners ask me to come early to give their little fur babies time to get to know me.
Coming up, I’ll give you one dumb petsitting experience that set me back a chunk of money, but then I’ll follow up with a few of my favourite gap-time excursions that were surprisingly affordable.
